In a couple of years... (Back to The Future)

In five years, "we no speak americano" will sound to people the way "barbie girl" sounds to us.

Does anyone remember this kind of statement being made here some years ago?
Does anyone remember me saying I'll be back in 2014 or so to say whether or not this has happened?

This was back when we were all obsessed and hopeful about the rise of electronic music sounds in mainstream radio (before we knew it would turn EDM) and we were all getting our panties in a bunch because Dr Dre or some rapper said "slower is better" in a random commercial; A commercial, by the way, that died in popularity faster than the "Selfie" single from Chainsmokers.

So far, they still don't even remotely come across the same.

And what of my predictions.....one, that Lady Gaga would be all but forgotten by now. Well, she's not reached that point yet. She has a loyal fan base, but most people would like to forget her and see her go away (I think).

I liked Barbie Girl for about 4 days. Americano, I never liked.
