"IN A WORLD" without Don Lafontaine

The voice-over KING has passed away at the age of 68. How many times have I been asked if I could sound like Don. The man did more voice-overs than anyone before him and is a true legend of the business. Movie trailers will never be the same without that voice. Rest In Peace my friend, the world has lost a great voice!

Check this out

Paul Wintner runs a big agency for the top drawer VO men and women in movies and TV. Le Fontaine used to be one of his guys, before he went completely freelance.

Wintner put a great and very funny video featuring Le Fontaine on his website yesterday. Here's a link to it.

While you're there check out some of the other people Wintner represents. Do the name Beau Weaver sound familiar? You'll recognize his and the other voices on that site. Those people are doing most of the movie trailers and network TV promos we see these days.

His voice was one that ALL of us wish we had - what pipes he had - so rich and smooth. RIP Don LaFontaine.

No one mentioned here that Mr. Le Fontaine was the only voice over talent in the U.S..

On this man's "death announcement" why are you mentioning all these
other names ? I think most of us in the broadcast industry know who
all the great talents are.

Its Mr LA Fontaine and Filio mentions Beau Weaver is on that site, because Beau played a major part of Houston radio. It was simply a 'while you are there, check out....' invitation.
