HD2, I'll be the first to admit that blowing up KLOL as a rock station was a mistake. It should have been KKRW. The jocks, programming, etc. from KKRW should have been moved to KLOL and rebranded the station as "101.1 The Arrow". There would have been much less of an uproar within the general population, and you wouldn't have lost the name recognition or heritage that comes with the 101 KLOL name. It was a mistake, made by individuals that did not appreciate the longstanding relationship this city had with it's longtime rock station. But, you know what they say about hindsight...HD2 said:I'd rather work on my solutions for delivering a better product on the air.
Where are your results? If you've got a hand in what's on Houston radio, then please do us all a favor and quit! You're only making it worse.
Is what they turned KLOL into better? I don't think so. It's just another trashy rap station, but in Spanglish. I'd rather catch a Stevie Ray tune off of KIOL. Houston radio has way too many R&B, rap, and Spanish stations. The few alternatives available stink. You blame the listeners, but when CC flushed KLOL they told us, "This is what we're doing and you have to like it." The companies don't care about the listeners. Why is it their fault when the company gives them a trashy product and the middle finger?
