As of a few weeks ago I think, WMGK 102.9 FM has canceled "Nights With Alice Cooper" which aired from 10 PM-1 AM Monday-Friday due to low ratings and for music that did not fit WMGK's style according to someone at Wikipedia. DJ Ray Koob gets his 2 hours back and his show will air from 7 PM-12 AM Monday-Friday like it was before they carried Alice Cooper.

Good. One less "celebrity" keeping real radio people out of work.

During the show's run here, I was twising my knob and came across Nine Inch Nails in an unusual spot. I thought a station had flipped, but it was Cooper's show. Who at MGK thought his show fit the station in the first place?

The same guy at Greater Media who thought that Sports 950 / WPEN would be a hit ...?

dude coopers show f****** rocked. they played the good stuff.

105.7 WINS AGAIN!

I'm sure philly will bounce back from this devastating blow with time, after all it's only a matter of time before staples runs their yearly tribute to the rock god right?........ here's what i think happened it the first place: the wonderful pd severely underestimated the power of that last bong hit before handing good-ole' alice precious air-time and tries to save face by pretending to give him a shot and maybe mustering enough ratings to justify putting him on the air in the first place. Even if you really enjoyed the guys choices i don't think this is even close to being the right market for him. I think satellite would be the best option

Nights With Alice Cooper is a syndicated radio show that airs Daily.

Like Julius stated, this is a syndicated program that airs in many markets across the country. MGK's PD did not "give him a shot". His show does OK in some markets, and less than OK in others. I'm not even sure he ever did his show from Philly and the MGK studio at all.

Cooper's show seems more geared for MMR since he plays rock music from classic to currents, like MMR does. MGK never really promoted the show except for the days leading up to the original broadcast.

I understand that he is a syndicated show and that he didn't broadcast from philly but i still don't see a place for him here and i believe SOMEBODY realized this too little too late. If that isn't the case and tptb actually though this would attract enough listeners to be profitable then the lack of confidence in the show is just inexplicable...... I think i explained my thought right, it made sense to me though :)
