I'm guessing WBZ is blasting to the west of Boston,

that's not right no one could hear KDKA 50 miles out of Pittsburgh

WBZ with that directional pattern has always been the strongest east coast station in the Midwest and they're much stronger than KDKA.

Can KDKA do anything about it??

They could if they wanted to... WBZ and KDKA are both owned by CBS.

The "that station has no business being heard in your area" argument many pro-IBOC and anti-DXers use can't apply here I guess.

The DX community is very small, and it's tiring to hear about them "being ignored" and so on. Yes, there are some curiosity tuners left, but they are not regular listeners and they contribute nothing to the wellbeing or success of a station today.

Nearly anything you want to hear is available on the internet in a clearer, better fashion.

Granted KDKA generally has a subpar signal, but you should be able to hear a local station.

The area around Pittsburgh is not one of particularly good ground conductivity, so KDKA is not an inferior facility... just in an area of lesser conductivity.

I hope KDKA has filed complaints.

CBS Radio Pittsburgh could complain to CBS Radio Boston. It's bad for the corporate bottom line if both stations are interfering with each other in the other's markets.

It seems that CC is getting rid of IBOC, I've noticed that both KNEW in SF, and KFBK in Sacramento have shut down the IBOC

I don't think they interfere in their market areas, and a as David said, metro is all advertisers care about.

Other than religious broadcasters, outlander coverage means nothing to anyone but us.

Let's not candy-coat it; this is a very serious setback for those of us who are concerned with the clarity of the MW band. I still have yet to meet ANYONE who actually listens to AM HD, yet the charade (and waste of money) continues. As far as the marketplace is concerned, AM IBOC is an abject failure. And there is absolutely no evidence that this will ever change.

What the IBOC technology is doing to the AM band is an outrage. Shame on Clear Channel!
