In case you missed it on AA: Gig on midcoast Maine....

We’re a small but growing full-service radio station for Maine’s lovely and dynamic Midcoast--Radio 9 WCME (900 AM and radio9wcme.com). We’re seeking both a host for our live ‘n local full-service morning show--the Midcoast Morning Buzz--as well as an experienced salesperson. It would be a fine thing to find them in one body but we’re also open to those interested in just one of these positions.

Maine and northern New England background preferred. We’re not seeking jocks--we’re looking for someone with something to say--and someone who doesn’t mind that the station is built around three programming priorities: LOCAL, LOCAL and LOCAL.

When it comes to sales, we’re on the road with a significant list of accounts but we want to lengthen that list. We’re willing to pay a better-than-average commission and offer you the opportunity to grow with us.

If you feel that corporate radio is what Marconi had in mind when he created this form of communication, you won’t like it here much. But If you wish to work for a small company that values its people and the communities in which we live and work, this could be for you.

Feel free to tell us about yourself and leave short air samples at radio9wcme.com.

If you take the time to communicate with us, you are deserving of an acknowledgement, and we will send you one.

I'm not sure what's funny about this? Sounds like a station trying to stay live and local, looking for help. Sounds like a station many of us got in this business to work for actually.

Too funny.

I think RSKaz is what one might call a troll.

Even better! From doing a little investigating (don't you hate when people do that?) It seems RSKaz is the former host of said morning show that now has the job opening.

That might explain it.

I'm pretty sure the headline got me to read the ad and not your "sense of humor". Considering there aren't many gigs out there - it's nice to see someone staying live and local.
