In Memory of Alice on her 10th anniversary

I haven't seen it mentioned on this board before but am I the only person that misses hearing Vinnie with Sarah on the Alice morning show? I don't think it's been so long that my mind has gone hazy but Alice was a very special station and Vinnie, although one of the stranger broadcasters I've heard, made it different. If I were running that station I'd find a way to bring him (not to mention Sterling and Gretchen and the first PD(??) back.

What also hasn't been mentioned is how the contract negotiations between Sarah and CBS have blown up. CBS brass have pulled their original offer off the table after Sarah and her agent asked for 9 million dollars over a 5 year period! Alice management is pretty nervous right now. And, No Name has to be wondering if Sarah's greed is going to screw up his job. (He has a separate contract.)

I don't think management is all that nervous. I'm sure Chris Mays has a list of some possible solid replacements should Sarah not budge on her ridiculous demands.

Vinnie would have still been here, if he would show up for work. How soon people forget that he was fired because of his no shows and showing up very late.

Why bring that problem back?

Yeah, it's a well known fact that most Program Directors have a long list of good morning show people just sitting on their desk.

I find Sarah and No Name unlistenable. The show is juvenile and No Name's voice is grating. I have no idea why they're so popular.

Are you kidding that Sarah wants 9 million over 5 years? Is that outrageous or am I missing the boat?

Well then I think we've both missed the boat! Outrageous is a good word for it. They had 1 very good book after Howard left Live 105, but have been dropping or flat since. But remember they are owned by the people who gave us Free FM and Movin. So 9 mill
may sound OK to a company who thinks that's great programing.

I miss KRQR The Rocker.

Alice is 17th with adults in this week's trend. If she keeps this up, maybe the Rocker will return ;)
