IN MY OWN WORDS

Recent post on Radio Info about me I must correct,,,Number 1...I was not fired by CC because of my health..Yes I almost died twice,,but CC did not let me go because of my health..Today. Im fine but my rasslin days with Jerry Lawler and Rick Flair are over....Number 2..Big Paul was my only partner at TQR and then Bill Dotson.Wrong...In 1986 I was teamed with Billy Buck Belvins,,great guy but he left..Chuck Webster,,Les Acree PD and Danny Hall worked with me until Dale Mitchell became my next partner..All great radio people..After Dale left Big Paul became my partner and my best friend until hes death..Bill Dotson followed Paul...Number 3...From 1986 until 2008 TQR was number 1..CC in 2008 told me they wanted to make a change and my deal ended..We had a 15.2...Number 4...I still remain friends with those that let me go and have no hatred for CC as some would make you belive by post that even use my name,,,,Number 5...unlike many who post here. I have left my email address if you perfer truth over junk news just drop me a line...Number 6...CC did what they thought was best and no I was,nt happy with being let go but I will always have great memories of my time at WTQR,,the friends i made and the people who listen to the radio show.Very happy at Classic Country 98.1 and working for a mom and pop station .I started my radio days under a mom and pop station..WCOS Columbia SC and MR George Buck is going in the RADIO HALL OF FAME...Lucky Number 7...I have had a WONDERFULL LIFE,,,,,

I heard you on the radio for the first time several months ago because I happened to be in the car when I could pick up WBRF that time of day, which is unusual.

You don't sound like a woman.

Your new station is probably a very good place for what you do.

I was a little disappointed because had I done things the normal way that day I would have heard a lot more of the great music. But some of what you do is fine too.

And Im sure some of what you do is fine too,,But my record in radio is on display for anyone to see..I am very proud of the things I achived after 39 years. Its been and still is a wonderfull life on the radio..I thank the Lord and those who have supported me all these years. Most of all are the people I have meet in radio and the great radio stations I have worked for.WCOS..WMC.. WSM...KKBQ....WIVK...WNOE...WMIL...WRNS..WSOC .to name s few...DJ,S like Rubarb Jones..Cathy Martindale...Big Paul Franklin..Les Acree..Dale Mitchell...Neal Dion.. George Kline....Chuck and Debbie ,,Crazy Eddie Edwards,,Billy Buck...Hunter Herring ..Woody Windom..Bill Cody...Al Winter and yes the WOLFMAN....Radio has taken me around the world from Japan to Aussieland,,,and I shook the hands of Carl Perkins to Ringo Starr and Hugged Dolly Parton and did the first live radio broadcast from Graceland..Broke bread with Johnny Cash ,Steve Cropper,,BB King ,Jerry Lee and was there the night Tanya Tucker took her bra off...I even ate breakfast at a Waffle House the night Jerry Jeff Walker park our rentle car in the medium of 140 with a unknow singer by the name of Jimmy Buffet because we could find the exit...And the night my Mother excepted my CMA award and got 4 secounds of air time on CBS,,,Radio has been good to me..The night Toby Keith was up for 6 CMA awards and lost. Toby after the show came up to me at the Plams in Nashville and hugged me because Big Paul my partner had died in May of that year.Class act if you ask me..ETC,,thats another book,,lol E MAN..OH yes..Radio has been good to me...Regrets???....Give me 40ty more years in Radio and i might have some,,but I doubt it....

Of course I didn't mean to suggest anything was wrong with what you do. I had my rare opportunity to listen to your station last week and I was there for the MUSIC. Lots of good songs, many I never heard. I know many people have enjoyed you over the years and I have no doubt you have had a great career.
