did in it's entire run 1.9 and growing...MOVIN 0.9 (ROCK ON).

Lets see 15000 songs in a row...no commercials. A projected Million in TV time. No jocks. Does it get better for listeners than that? I can only think of a handful of people who could screw that up. We'll soon see

Except the big difference is that the Wolf had phone calls on the air from real listeners raving about the station and saying where they live!

Some may recall that Labour day weekend of 2005 KFRC changed format and had "consultant recorded listener calls". A big difference.

I got a tour of the Wolf studios in early March and they were editing some of thoses calls during my visit.

Back in Decmber of 2004 92.1 in Sacramento went with a country automated format and they took 3-months to go live. First Broadcasting is now on their third format with that station.

Yes the Wolf had to add 5,000 songs because it always takes longer to complete the hiring process. To their credit they did not seem to waste time in adding personalties.

The Wolf sounds so much like a live radio station first and a county format second.

What are your thoughts on how they introduced the format and their current sound?

Newsperson

From what I have been hearing and reading, it seems that The Wolf has created a fun atmosphere. It doesn't really matter that it is Country Music. Local, Live and Talented, Up Beat On-Air Personalities.

This is what will carry their numbers even higher. They have a formula and are using it to the best of their ability.

I think they did a really good job, and I'm impressed. Yes - it took them an extra 5,000 songs to get it done and bring in the personalities, but that's not long, really. Contrast that with MOViN, which bored us for months on end with the annoying "Brad and Tasia," then finally managed to put in a morning show and then a couple of months after that, a couple of other so-so jocks.

It's been said before, but the only problem with The Wolf is that they have to play country music. I actually like about one of out 10 songs - and after about 3 in a row, I'm outta there. But since they have the format basically to themselves, they may be a hit...who knows.
