...that the first domino fell on Lovett Boulevard, as FM 100 KILT dropped Album Rock for Contemporary Country, leading the heritage sister on the AM to drop the pop and rock hits and go country itself only 6 months later.

...it would still be 18 months until John Lander hit the scene, the bloodbath at 79 KULF ensued, and the Q stereo combo came to pass.

What were your fondest memories of the ol' girl @ FM 100 on your dial? Were you even alive when the Big 610/FM 100 combo blasted speakers all over Houston, or even when they were showing signs of deterioration in those last years as a Top 40 and Album Rock duo?
 
I remember the day the music died on KILT 610. I heard country coming out of the radio, changed the station off of KILT for the last time. I haven't been back.

KILT 610 is a curiosity in Lubbock, TX during the day, fighting it out with a 610 from Albuquerque.
