And ESPN Radio terminated WKNR's contract in 2006 because they didn't have a 24/7 clearance in the market... ::)

This schedule is an out-and-out mess. Premiere had to have been told about the shafting of Romey this morning, else they would have ripped up the contract with WKNR immediately.

The schedule is only "an out-and-out-mess" if ad sales drop. If revenue doesn't drop immediately, but does over time, and they end up not being able to fix the problem, then it can be called an "out and out mess".

We're all tossing around opinions here. No one is any more credible than the other. That is the nature of opinion. Money does not matter to the decision makers there. Not like it does to the posters here.

The name 'Trust Fund Radio' says it all. Karmazan and that other kid come with silver spoons in their mouths. The employees there however, have bills, mortgages, and so forth. They worry about paying for thier kids college, etc. Those kids do not have the same perspective or responsibilities in life. Never did. Their only real concern would be getting cut off, which never crosses their mind anyway. Simple as that.

Two sets of reality at play. It must be absolutely horrid to work there, especially if you are in the upper demos like some of the long time pros.

It can't be too horrid if they're able, and want to, pay the numerous employees because PPM numbers are up, and you'd think ad sales are up to.
Lots of local air shows and talent on an AM station that's not one of the 50,000 watt 24/7 blowtorches. Three daily LOCAL shows, all with more then one host, so they can bounce off eachother as well as the callers. Pretty impressive.

The problem rests on KNR2. Like it or not, the station is a small 1,000 watt inner city signal that may never see an upgrade (and even it that upgrade occurs, it will still miss the suburbs to the west, south and east).

Even at 10am during the winter, you'd be lucky to catch KNR2 in most of Lorain County and not be utterly overwhelmed by KXEL/1540 in Waterloo. That bodes very, very badly for Munch's 7a-9a show on KNR2. How will anyone be able to listen?

I'll never understand how anyone could listen - why doesn't he just drag a rake across a blackboard?

such a hodgepodge.....

here's the deal.....if you like romey like i do you can hear all three hours on WARF in Akron or that new Sportsanimal station 1390 in Youngstown.......
if you can't hear one of them where you live in cleveland you can hear the other.

Last time I was in Bay Village, I did an A/B test in the middle of the day between WWGK at 1540, and CBE (CBC Windsor) at 1550.

Both were full of static, but the Canadian signal was the clear winner. (Of course, that'll go away soon, as CBC is moving to CBEW/97.5, which obviously won't be heard here even if WONE signs off for maintenance. :D)
