Inauguration 2013

Well, as some1 who grewup in an era of wall2wall Network coverage, I was rather surprised to see our KCBS 2 leave CBS from 10-1030-AM for local news . ... I practicly think it should be required that coverage should at least be available on another multicast channel.[snip!]

So CBS broke for a newscast (where Price would normally be, no less). Perhaps CBS built in a news window for its affiliates. It's not like they didn't have an opportunity to open one. (BTW: "Some1" and "Wall2wall" are not proper words. You're not texting here.).

Another unwelcome surprise this morning, PBS coverage ended more than 1 hour early on both KOCE and PBS World.

Again, so what? PBS coverage was scheduled to end after the Inaugural Speech to begin with. Enough networks were covering things to whet anyone's interest.

There was a lotta gushing about the Reagans. It's been a while since there's been a movie star in the White House. People forget what that's like. But Nancy Reagan was as much of a story as Jackie Kennedy had been. Not a lot of gushing about Bess Truman.

Or Mamie Eisenhower, or Lady Bird Johnson. Attractiveness (or lack of same) and the First Lady's personal sense of style has a lot to do with it. Michelle obviously has both.

Betty Ford was a Republican First Lady that attracted a lot of great press coverage, but that was primarily from her good acts, and from being considered the first First Lady to speak out about the issues that concerned her.

I should mention Sasha and Malia's coats were the most beautiful colors. I just saw their photos in the newspaper and the newspaper did not capture who pretty those colors were.

Michelle didn't look like herself. She has always had gorgeous hair, but her new look doesn't do much for me.
