Inauguration day: Rush wasn't even on!

Four years ago I listened. he had audio from Obama's speech and occasional commentary. I listened to the callers afterward.

Today, some substitute. Sorry, i want to hear HIM. I don't listen to him that often.

On a related note, Mike Huckabees three-minute commentaires at 8:30 and 3 didn't even mention the inauguration. I was watching Obama's speech and didn't check him out at noon. As for his longer show, I don't know if it even airs where I live.

A huge chunk of the radio dial took off for MLK day.

So you don't listen to him often, but you chose the Inauguration Day to tune him in?
And you're disappointed because he wasn't there, on a specific day, when you wanted him to be?
You should have called him first and advised him of the good-days-for-you that you might listen. Maybe he could have told you where he'd be on Inauguration Day, and you could have avoided the despair.
Then when he's off some of those days, you can also call him 'chicken' and 'not responsive to his 'don't listen to him that often' listeners.'

I think he was celebrating because it is easier to do a show with Obama in office.
The next day, I happened to be in the car when the show started. He explained it was the health problems that he has been having. Supposedly, the one specific problem may have led to his hearing loss.

And he said there wasn't anything to talk about. Obama did pretty much what Rush expected him to.

Mark Levin was not on either, and I suspect some other conservative hosts took the day off.

Sort of like when you're a TV network and you're up against a juggernaut show in a time slot you
know you aren't gonna win. So you punt and put on America's Funniest Security Camera Videos.

The reality of all of it is that it's a business. Rush does what he does to make as much money as possible. An owner of a Major League Baseball does it for the money.

Whether you are a fan of professional sports or talk radio, remember this. It's all about making money. If all of a sudden being liberal was the in-thing and conservative talk went off the cliff, Rush would become liberal today.

Sports fans think it's about the World Series and Superbowl, when in fact the owner only cares about the bottom line. Actually repeated World Series wins are detrimental to attendance, the source of much income. At the end of the day the owner looks at what he has in the bank. The Yankees spend a ton of money and the Oakland As are known as the cheapest spenders in baseball, yet at the end of the season both teams net about the same amount of money.

When will the general public wake up and realize much of what they perceive as being important is just an illusion. People get all worked about talk radio and the host goes home at the end of the day and completely forgets about what he said and ten then the next morning wakes up, goes to work and then puts together more mean things to say about the political party he claims to detest. He doesn't believe it but it gives him a big pay check so the joke continues.

Rush was, as I understand it, in Washington on Inauguration Day...invited to be there by a couple of GOP members....

He claimed to have had a doctors appointment about a messed-up shoulder.

Inauguration Day was also Martin Luther King Day (which should be celebrated on the actual anniversary of his birth, January 15th, but that's a topic for a political messageboard), and many talk hosts weren't on because their contracts specify that they get all major holidays off, including MLK Day.
