Incredible World Series!

World Series! How can anybody get excited about this series? Well, there have been many AMAZING plays, improbable plays that just SHOULDN'T happen -- Pablo's 3 homeruns on his first 3 at-bats (never been done), two double-strikeouts, amazing outfield catches that just shouldn't happen, balls that bounce places they shouldn't, hits that look impossible.

Hats off to Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper, Jon Miller, and Dave Flemming the top-notch Giants announcers on KNBR, for many excited and descriptive calls. Great Fox TV visuals and scenery, too. It's supposed to be the best of 7 games, so from the looks of it, the Giants may win the series today in just 4 games.

Leaving aside all the elsewhere beaten-to-death critiques of network announcers/personalities vs. the locals ( I choose not expend blood-pressure points worrying about such things), one thing I've wondered:

Is it my imagination, or are Fox Sports' camera images sharper and better than the local Comcast Sports technology?

They look sharper to me. I'm not sure how they calibrate cameras today, but it may just be that they use the same equipment but saturate the colors more.

I thought it was boring, especially on radio, unless you like watching pitching strategy and performance.

Who were you listening to? I thought Jon Miller and the boys on KNBR were as good as always.

All that matters is that the San Francisco Giants Won the World Series.

The last time The World Series was won on a called third strike was in 1925!

Thanks for that info; I had wondered. I read somewhere that a World Series in the 1920s ended with Babe Ruth getting caught stealing!! Dunno the year, but obviously the Yankees lost.

cd

just didn't seem like much of a contest, the Giants had some good defense, the pitching was too tough, I like to see the ball in play more.

I would feel sorry for Detroit, and would wish they would have won one game, but I thought I heard them booing their own batters when they struck out?
