These listings would indicate that Indy
was in the Central time zone, probably
a year or so before the Eastern/Central
time zone line started snaking its way
westward through Indiana.

That's possible. I have an Indiana map from 1962 where the time line snakes pretty close to counties down the middle of the state. (St Joe county was Eastern, Howard county was Central and Tipton County was Eastern. TV Guide and the Indiana published TV News listed fast and slow times.

I'm not sure when Indianapolis went on EST; I know Louisville
shifted from Central to Eastern in 1961, so your '62 Indiana
map would be correct.
