Indie 103.1 is Dance on HD-2

Bought a Sony hd receiver 6 months ago but dont use it very often but every once in a while i scan the channels to see if there is anything new. Hooked up to an old Radio Shack $15.00 outside antenna (must be 10-15 years old -) and was surprised to pick up Indie (the Santa Monica one) in Hd 1 and 2. Im in Covina. They are just playing dance hits - no sweepers or any identification of any kind (havnt caught an toh id). Also noticed changes since the last time i checked that KLOS hd-2 is now alternitive oldies (for a lack of a better classification --and later "oldies" than KROQ's roq of the 80's). KLOS's HD-3 which normally was a simul of KABC was playing Christmas tunes but i didnt check to see if maybe KABC was playing Christmas tunes . KLSX hd-1 was simulcasting KRTH Christmas - maybe regular KLSX was too - didnt check . There is an KPWR hd-3 appearing on the tuner at full signal strength but there is no audio......checked back on KLOS hd-2 and now they are playing Joe Walsh so im not sure what the format is ---- but the previous hispanic leaning rock format seems to be gone. KXOL hasnt been available in hd previously here and still isnt. KRTH has earlier oldies on hd-2 and later oldies on hd-3.. Not getting KOST in any HD versions but always did in the past. Its midnite now and just heard KOST say good morning and Christmas tunes are gone. Picking up 103.3 The Vibe outta Santa Barbara in non HD tonite - the Sony Receiver is really pretty good at picking up weak signals but i was surprised at picking this up tonite. Not getting any KKGO hd's tonite. So for all three of us that have HD receivers in the L.A area thats whats going on . Maybe someone got one for Christmas -- then there would be four of us !! ----- I remember when I was a kid listening to am in my bedroom and one night i picked up KOMA out of Oklahoma City (living here in Southern California) and ran into the living room and told my parents "I'm listening to Oklahoma!!!!!" --- years later i found out that they thought I was listening to one of their albums of the soundtrack to the movie "Oklahoma" ------ so here i am forty years later .... Happy New Year weirdos freaks nerds geeks or whatever this decade will decide to call people who have a love for radio !

I am using an HD receiver I picked up at RS surplus with an indoor antenna near Long Beach. I am getting most of teh same signals but it is surprise to me too that KKGO is not broadcasting HD. I am also not getting any of teh non-comms in HD.

KNX on KTWV HD-2 sounds so much better than either their HD or normal AM. It actually sounds like they have decent bandwidth.

I heard the Christmas music where KABC was. I will have to go check on what is there today.

My main reason for getting the receiver (other than it was a real bargain) was to check out the KRTH HD channels. I like the sound of both of them and but I am not sure which one I like better.

My daughter (who works in a downtown high-rise) may invest in HD, after listening to mine, to listen to KNX because she can't stream and can't get the AM signal through the walls.

INDIE 103.1 hd2 is all dance music. The music selection is great. The are playing the long version of each songs. Non stop dance music. It's great to hear it on 103.1fm in LA. One problem. KDLD signal is very weak. So you can pick up the station mostly in hollywood and Santa Monica area. I was able to pick up the station in Claremont/La verne area tonight.
