Indie on the rise. Signal was boosted?

After much talk about the demise of Indie 1031, it is nice to see the trends bucking the negative talk that often appears here.

Conclusively, Indie is up, up to a 1 share, which meant it's monthly must have been higher than a one share - no?

KROQ down, Indie up.

One factor in higher numbers...A significant boost in signal power
that fills in strong in many San Fernando Valley areas.

It's processing power sounds better as well.

The station's spot load is STILL strong, contrary to predictions on this board, the station still is FULL of NATIONAL advertisers. A sign of demise?

Say's who?

You are mistaking negativity for realistic evaluation of the station's deficiencies.

No. It continues to wobble within the margin of error for a low-ranked station.

And Radio-Info rules prohibit posting of ratings numbers. Please watch it.

> KROQ down, Indie up.

KROQ is also within the margin of error, but that margin is higher because it has higher ratings. If you are going to make claims about ratings, please understand how they work before you post and show ignorance.

KDLD has not increased its signal. It cannot due to a number of FCC regulations on signal overlap, adjacent channel interference, etc. This is apparently another area where you have done no research but jumped to an erroneous conclusion, based upon wishful thinking.

AFAIK, they have changed nothing in their audio chain.

What you don't know is how little they are able to charge for their spots. As has been already posted, the 103.1s are showing very poor cash flow, and have one of the lowest ROIs (Return On Investment) in the market.

> Say's who?

Says those of us who know the business, rather than hoping to make a point on emotional argument and rhetoric.

Go play with Sam.

It was a tiny bit above a one share, just as it was a tiny bit below in the previous months. Totally in the range, though.

Acutally, KROQ was up a half point from March to April. There has never been any significant corelation between India and KROQ, ever. Indie seems to appeal to a very different group.

(See, KROQ wobbles too. I'll bet they do not get hysterical over 0.5 to 0.7 changes, which they often get, because they know that this is the nature of a sample-based survey)

Indie did some adjustments that affected the signal in the overlap zone between the two signals, but has not and can not change the contours towards the north or northeast. In other words, they did not increase ERP or HAAT.

It sounds the same to me. Maybe you changed your radio?

It´s not about 2how many" but about "how much." Many of the contracts Indie is running now may be remnants of the CCU JSA. In any case, the rate for a below-1 share station are going to be cheap.
