Indie Talk on Sirius 110 - Joe Salzone

Joe is apparently too busy to check the board this week, since he has a new job. I thought I heard him doing the news in the PM drive for Sirius' latest new station, Indie, which began broadcasting Wednesday Feb 6.
It's a news/talk political format for independents. According to his website, joesalzone.com he left WNYG to go to Sirius, confirming what I heard.

Congratulations Joe!

I guess spinning the Jesus hits ain't all it's cracked up to be 8)

I knew NYG was a breeding ground... good talent always escapes from the black hole (even though I know a few that are still there that deserve better).

Sorry, Michael, for taking so long to reply.
That is, in fact, me anchoring Blogcasts in the afternoon on Indie Talk. I'm pleased someone noticed!

This morning -- Friday, for clarification -- was my last at WNYG.

Don't worry, WNYG will grab you back. They always....come back....always. ;) ;D
Seriously though, congratulations you dog-gamned cranky bastard. Hope this means you don't have to wake up at ungodly hours.

Maybe someday within our lifetimes, great radio programming will return to "The House on 109".

Doubtful. And with the death Sunday of a good friend and colleague who used to work with us at WNYG, Sean Vesley, it pains me even more to hear what has become of it.

Last night I dug out some old tapes of my friend after I heard of his passing. We had some great radio that, due to the limited signal, flew under the radar. Sean was a listener who was an avid doowop fan who love radio, and did some great radio when he was working with us. His true love was Hot Rodding and knowing the business of radio and understanding the business world as he does, he knew where his bread was buttered. In a much healthier climate, he would have done very well in radio.

Indeed. Once 4 in the morning comes up on the clock, I'm still sleeping.
