Indy Ratings

Who'd have ever thunk that K-Love would be tied with Q95 for 6th place?

It doesn't surprise me that K-Love does so well. They do meaningful radio that touches lives. The Song did well considering signal issues that plagued them.

I'm pleasantly surprised that K-Love did so well--it's a well earned rating IMHO. Perhaps I should have worded my comment as more of a surprise that the B and T flagship was down to 6th place.

My question is with Q-95 down to 6th, what kind of numbers are B&T bringing in?
Has their day in the sun (or 25+years) come and gone, or is there a
tune out after 10am of titanic porportions?

Perhaps the condition of the US economy is causing more listeners to seek out a "Positive and Encouraging" listening experience. Voice tracked and satellite programming gets old after awhile. At least K-LOVE stations are different from most stations out there...music wise. Plus, talk radio gets old as well, especially the "political" talk radio shows, oh so negative. My opinion is biased...as I am a K-Love supporter.

You'd have to dig much deeper to find out if Q95's listeners largely went to K-love...which is doubtful. Having a local studio probably helps

Last numbers had Class A WIRE in Lebanon nearly tied with 50kw Class B WGNR overall and WIRE can't be heard outside Boone County.

How are B and T doing in other markets? Is this the end of their Q 95 broadcast or is it the rest of teh day that is dead?

I think it's fantastic that the contemporary Christian music format is doing so well in Indianapolis! K-Love is probably doing better here than in other markets because, since their morning drive hosts are doing their show from the Castleton studios, they're here in Indy to host events, concerts, charitable promotions and have a local presence. For Indy at least, K-Love isn't the typical satellite-fed network station.

The location of the K Love morning team has not been a great promotional vehicle like you might expect and money is the reason. If the client pays for the morning team to show up they do. The morning team has only been in a place if money changes hands. The same thing can happen if someone in another state wants them at an appearance. This effectively nullifies the advantage.

Places like Louisville, Cincinnati, and Chicago area K Love affiliates could have also gained from the extra exposure. Hasn't happened.

I tend to be more on the secular side when I seek a radio listening opportunity, but K-Love is "Christian DONE RIGHT". The upbeat music is actually enjoyable to even those that don't attend church more than once/month – the presentation is "pro" – the audio quality is exceptional. Interestingly, even their translators offer-up audio that is some of the best on the local band.
I've gone from a [then] college student that couldn't get-enough of Q95 – to one who could CARE LESS about their 275-song playlist and constantly recycled shtick!

Thank you, Bob – and likewise – I enjoy your technical "gift" to Connersville, Indiana on 1580 WIFE. Aside from their superlative presentation of retrograde music [oldies], the technical quality of that little [VERY-little] AM signal is AWESOME! Over my many years, I have not intercepted one that sounds better. I am fortunate to have 3 tuners that are capable of delivering analog audio frequencies above 5 kHz [2 above the NRSC mask of 10 kHz]. On all three, WIFE AM sounds BETTER than many FM stations. GOOD JOB, BobOnTheJob!!!
