I have been told by someone inside the building on the circle that Bob Lamey said "OFF AIR" when the network was in commercial break, something in the order of "they should bench Peyton and start working on getting a replacement for him next year" .....Again that was Off Air, but the recorder was recording the stadium feed and it was on tape. The afternoon show at WFNI (Colts Flagship station) aired the comment a couple of times on Monday afternoon, then claimed they did not know if was an off air comment. Really!!! I am sure Bob has said that many times over the course of his time with the Colts think of what he was saying the year they went 1 and 16. :)

What RDO said. WFNI probably sent the Colts back to Q95 when this contract is over. Not that I'd blame the Colts.

Lamey is a clown who makes the late Harry Caray look like Edward R. Murrow. The Colts will fire him but will have the decency to let him "retire" publicly. JMV will probably have his access limited as a result of airing the comment, but he'll spin it using his too-cool-for-the-room smugness.

WLHK is the flagship, although I doubt for long. WFBQ will take the Colts back at the end of the contract, not so much because of this but because of desperation. Clear Channel will throw everything and the kitchen sink at the Colts to get them back. Q will likely have a new format by then.

CleanAudio meant 1-15, not 1-16 -- a team has to be a special kind of terrible to lose more games than are actually in a season... although I think Detroit did it a couple of years ago :)

Keep in mind Chris Wheat championed the value of the Colts contract with corporate Clear Channel. Although Clear Channel would seem best positioned to take the Colts back from Emmis [especially now privatized], this wouldn't be the first pro sports agreement Cumulus struck if Wheat could convince the Dickeys of the value of this pro sports franchise's contract in this market.

You have a point. It seems every contract, it is a switch between CC and Emmis. Cumulus could have the upper hand (Wheat knows how to talk the Colts language). All they have to do is promise better audio quality than Emmis, and more dedication to the Colts than WFBQ. Cumulus could be a contender as long as they keep the Colts off 93.9.

If Cumulus would jump into the game i see them on WFMS or WJJK before ever putting them on format of the dejour 93.9

Maybe they could dedicate the 93.9 frequency as an all Colts station all the time. Colts 93.9. ;)

Until the Colts load up in Mayflower vans in the middle of the night, expect Emmis to do their best to hold onto the contract.

I am not a sports fan. The value of the brand is such that Emmis wants to be connected. If they loose enough key players or their quarterback don't get his mojo back this could change.

If only the Pacers were good enough to value their games highly. Thye have ABA content players now. Wonder why they are still here but this is related to the contested will no doubt.

There is no question Lamey is the one that needs to be replaced. His consistent whining and moaning is impossible to listen to imo, which is why I gave up on the Colts home broadcast as soon as the games became available on satellite. Piss poor attitude and obviously not a clue about talent. Who would he suggest we replace Peyton with that will give the Colts consistent winning seasons? Idiot.

I'm curious if the 'lame-ass' feels that way about Peyton now? He's worse than all the other people jumping off the wagon, now I'm sure he's right back!
