Yes, The Track will make Real 97.1 look like a raging success. RadioNow will be up, KLU will continue to slide; Jack will be flat.

"Any predictions?"

I predict that people will look at the 12+ numbers and make wild claims
about a stations performance. Unless you've got an 18-54 break out, please
don't wait me up.

Predictions are like opinions. Everyone has one and they all stink. Wait, that's not right.

Close enough.

We have a ultra soft A/C station in the market that boasts being "Arbitron rated #1". True if you look at the 12+ numbers. But if you look at the 18-45 break out, they rate #16. That would suggest to me that their core audience is over 50. Not exactly the buying public the agencies are looking for.

And yes... in my first post, I meant to say WAKE me, not wait me. DOH!<P ID="signature">______________

Wrong.

Jack up, WKLU up, Track up a little (all 25-54).

Let's be accurate. Here they are in order, 25-54.

#1 WFBQ
#2 WFMS
#3 WHHH
#4 WKLU
#5 WJJK
#6 WYXB
#7 WRZX
#8 WTLC FM
#9 WZPL
#10 WLHK

So, FBQ maintains. WKLU did not slide and in fact returned to close to their highest point. Jack is not as healthy as they'd like to be against WKLU. The Track really didn't do anything significant. WYXB is the big winner from Gold going off the air. WZPL rebounded nicely. The Song shows growth.

How is it that on this board, no one talks about Radio One's stations? Two of their stations are in the top 10 (WHHH & WTLC-FM).

Well, people tend to chat about what they are interested in and what they know. My guess would be few of the posters are regular listeners of those stations and don't know the formats, I know I don't. Nothing wrong with that it just is.

That said, I'm sure that at sometime in that past few weeks midwestclubber has advised those stations to change formats to Dance. ;-)

UMMM...I just don't think that will happen....EVER!

Dog does bring up a point, I have been here for 1 1/2 yrs-love working
in this city. No one writes about Radio One. Hmmm?

It's typical for message boards to only talk about the negatives - the stations that aren't doing good - and for various posters to show their expertise by explaining what they should do to get those monster ratings... simply put, 90 percent of the time the boards are nothing more than bitching and moaning. Of course, there are exceptions, and some good posters who you can have a good conversation with, but those posters are the exception.

Radio One is doing well... so there's nothing to bitch about... you could say the same thing about FMS, FBQ, and IBC... don't see a lot of posts about them either.

You just hit the proverbial nail on the head. Not to mention, the bitching and moaning often come from out of work, embittered, ex radio professionals.

Nothing really shocking this book. Hank and TLC switched psoitions (again), as did B105.7 and The X. Gold 95, with it's limited range, is mired in last place with WNDE and WXNT. Most lost a little, some gained a little, and the Song gained the most, probably off of Christmas stunting. Same old, same old.

Not really, if this was a year ago, everybody would have been yelling that KLU could never compete in Indy, that TPI could compete against YXB and that GOLD did well. I find it remarkable that KLU is challenging the big boys. Why did someone think they were going to slide?? Also, what's happening with HANK?
>

The Franklin station is a rimshot signal. It is NOT an Indianapolis radio station. That they have some of the old Gold 104.5 jocks isn't mattering.

No surprises...the good stations do well. The stations that
have carved out a niche, stuck to their guns and served their
audience...those are the ones that win.

Everyone else is scrambling for the leftovers...and they aren't
doing a very good job to boot.
