Indy TV Changes

TVJobs.com has reported:
- Fox59 Morning News co-anchor Tracy Forner is "on the beach"
- Former RTV6 anchor Ray Cortipassi is "on the beach" (no surprise there)
- WISH-TV weekend meteorologist Sean Ash has departed.

Any word on who may be filling these positions (if any one)?

Also, WISH-TV reports making ratings gains in the February sweeps on their web site. Far as I know, WTHR leads in all news slots. True, or did that change during February?

So...he's not just on vacation? I was wondering why I hadn't seen him on the last few mornings.

Nope. His picture isn't among the staff listed on Fox59.com any longer (although if you Google his name and click his official bio, it is still there)

Looks like WXIN and WRTV both may have traded down. The guys they let go were both doing good jobs. But it could be that money, personality conflicts or the opinion of consultants caused the changes.

I knew something was up when the new promo -- announcing the fourth hour on CW-4 -- only had the two females.

BTW, simulcasting all four hours on two stations [technically, three with WTTK] is such a waste of a signal.

Fox59 Morning News is a wonderful way to lull yourself back to sleep in the morning.

59 was a bright spot in the morning..sometimes. Not always consistant however.

Sometimes it had better in depth coverage of stories that needed coverage. Other times a blabfest.

Wondered about Sean Ash. He's been around forever. Maybe Jim O'brien will step up to 8 or back to 13. What about Lyra? She was great on 13 then they moved to Cincy/Dayton area.

I happened to see Sean Ash's departing cast...said he had a wonderful girlfriend waiting for him in Detroit & wanted to be with her...plus, bigger market (my comment on the bigger market).

What I'm waiting to see is when RTV6 will stop promoting "listen to RTV6 on your radio at 87.7 FM". That will disappear along with their anaolg TV signal in Feb 2009...

I thought Sean Ash was happily married ???
