Inexpensive new C-Quam AM Stereo / HD / RDS tuner

I see no way to make it lock to analog FM so I can monitor my RDS. This is an ongoing problem, I'm not prepared to spend hundreds just to be sure the RDA is displaying correctly. Shame, it looks to qwork well and it's cheeeeep.

Wow. I got to check it out.I have to check my local Big Lots out. They carry Coby stuff there.

I was reading some of the Amazon reviews. One guy modify his radio with a antenna jack for he could hookup an outside antenna. He said be careful while working inside not to break the ferrite bead in it also use a better power pack.

The cheap filtered power pack is useless especially on the am band.

Even with the large and detachable loop antenna, the AM sensitivity is quite poor. The FM tuner seems reasonably good with the only serious drawback being the lack of an external antenna connector.

For the price, I was very happy with the radio. I bought it after seeing it here in the forums. The FM reception was pretty decent with the built in wire antenna, but I added my own F connector to hook it up to the attic antenna. I'm getting HD-1 and HD-2's on stations more than 40 miles away with my mods. Agreed that the AM is just okay, and definitely better when you replace the cheap-o wall wart with a quality unit.

It's a fun little toy.
