Infinity formatting oldies on WCBS-FM HD

oldies on WCBS-FM HD

That's great (for the 19 people in the city who have HD receivers).

I estimate only 8 (the GM, Infinity's Director of Engineering, WCBS-FM's Chief Engineer, a secretary who monitors if it craps out or not, and your guess who the other four would be!)

p.s. It will also be jockless, have ads and lack the character that CBS-FM had before they hi-JACK-ed it!

OMG song

Tim, if you're checking this thread, I want to mention I am checking out your Capital Radio stream, and 2nd song I heard (right now) is "Yellow River" - Christie and it's no lie, when I heard the opening riff I exclaimed "Oh My God!" Thanks!!

Per yesterday's announcement, there will apparently be no advertising on the supplemental channels for the foreseeable future.

Thanks, but Tim is the guy on-air. I'm Bill (hence the handle) the guy who posted.

That's a plus, but I thought I read in a past thread that the CBS-FM online stream had ad content on it. Does this mean they will run another version of the CBS-FM stream on HD2 or they will drop (unless they already did) any ad content they already have?

OOps I realize that now, thanks Bill for the referral of this station.

Re the thread topic I guess this CBS-FM HD station has nothing to do with the streaming online version?
Edited by SuperRadioFan on 12/09/05 09:38 PM.

My original point was that the HD2 channel uses a codec bitrate of 48kbps - low when compared to the main channel or, for that matter, the vast majority of internet radio streams. I had asked in a related thread if the CBS-FM online version was going to be the same version played on the HD2 channel, as I heard conflicting information about ads on both (stream has ads but reports clain the HD2 channel will be commercial free).

Re: WCBS-FM HD

Yes, I heard spots on wcbs.com. Maybe it will be dropped when more than the eight people have HD.

I had a good laugh at those posts. Probably because of the truthful aspect of them.
______________
