Infinty says hello to Jack in Fresno

Looks like for the 2nd time Spanish Pop gets dumped from 105.9, this time for Jack. Will it last? Or will we be back to Ricky in 3 months?

And is there any Spanish Pop stations left in Fresno or has the whole Hurban thing killed that format off entirely?<P ID="signature">______________

This format is badly needed in the market. AC is
bland and too poppy, rock is too hard. With so
much hip-hop, R&B, and Dance stations, this format will
work.

Aren't the Infinity stations in Fresno for sale?

Joel, at a recent sympsium, said that the station group or individual staitons were not for sale, but tax-saving swaps would be considered and some purchases were being considered, also.

It's radio. Everybody's for sale.

Not really. With the split of Viacom into new media and conventional media as two separate companies, they need the strong cash flow of the radio properties. Because so many of the staitons have enormous appreciation, a sale would mostly benefit the IRS right now.

How much do you suppose they paid for KNX or WINS or WCBS?

Re: Infinty IS for Sale

It's pretty public knowledge that the whole Fresno cluster is up for sale... Infinity doesn't want to do radio in markets that small anymore.
