Infomercials on TBS?

I was going through my DirecTV guide this morning and noticed TBS is running a one hour Paid Programming slot from 3-4AM Eastern time.
I have never seen this before. Is this something they do regularly and I have just never seen it?

Looks like they've just started it. Or, more accurately, restarted it. TBS ran paid-time programming back when they were a full-on superstation.

Next week's schedule (so far) doesn't have this block. But once one crosses into the Infomercial zone...

Stay tuned...

I made an account just to reply to this topic. WTF TBS r u kidding me? I see the above post saying they used to have infomercials, might have been back in the 90's, but not in the last 10 years. First they removed seinfeld at the 1am block and replaced it with my name is earl. Not a bad show but dont mess with seinfeld. Now they do this. TBS was one of the only stations that did not run infomercials. I guess the infomercials were willing to pay more than the ad revenue, which doesnt make sense since they were one of the few stations left. Comedy Central doesnt start them until 5 or 6 am which is fine but ffs TBS. You have enough shitty shows. Tyler Perry lineup makes me puke. I will just leave TBS on but after one hour of watch for better or worse or house of pain you want to shoot yourself. Have to ask wtf am I doing, and run for the remote.

^Welcome, bobhead21. I hope you enjoy posting here. Remember to refrain from using rude language while composing future posts.

As for the paid commercial programs from TBS, I wonder why they were broadcast? I cannot remember ever seeing a paid commercial program (or infomercial) from TBS.

Speaking of TBS ;D Peachtree TV seems to be nearing the end of another Frasier run, I wonder if they will loop it again, or start a new sitcom strip in its place?

I wonder if that paid infomercial program was maybe a preacher, Peter Popoff's water scam perhaps? Maybe even scheduled maintenance.

I still see Discovery Channel showing Ripoff's miracle spring water infomercial weekly. Can't believe it.

But back to TBS, I'm still wondering if it was maintenance, or a weekly preacher program.

Back when I had cable....many, many years ago....TBS did run infomercials. It's been too long and I don't remember the TOD but it coincided with their increased commercial load and shift to urban oriented programming. They dropped several of my favorite shows - including a long-running issue with Dave DeSpain's racing shows - so I dropped TBS never to watch again. AFAI am concerned TBS was the forerunner of the late, lamented TVLand which has also fallen through the floor.

Are they running the last season(s) episodes in HD? I remember Frasier was HD (according to the NBC pop-up IIRC) in its last years and would hope those would air again in HD. :)

It was a Steam Vac infomercial and one for the Magic Pillow as well.

It's that time of year when insurance giant Humana rolls out "The Most Boring Infomercial Ever" (along with its cousin, "The Most Boring Five-Minute Commercial Ever" that causes TV Land to elongate the runtimes on their programs). They're possibly paying some good $$ to cable networks to run their sleep-inducing Medicare pitch, and TBS couldn't refuse.

I wake up at 6AM in the morning, and 4 times out of 5, Discovery is showing a Humana infomercial. After 12/7, those tapes will probably be destroyed...

Of course they also have Creflo Dollar, Life Today and Joyce Meyer in the morning. I just wonder why those programs are on there before regular programming starts at 9AM PT on Discovery...

I don't think their sister network TNT runs infomercials.

They're doing it again! However, it looks like a late Saturday night, early Sunday morning thing only.

Tonight's infomercials seem to be at 3AM E/P and have IIRC the NuWave and My Pillow infomercials on them. Nothing preacher, Peter Ripoff or maintenance related. Just regular overnight infomercials.

I don't have an HD TV, but I doubt it. My cable company doesn't even carry WPCH in HD.
