Inland Empire PPMs

It is interesting after all this time KOLA is now the number one station in the Inland Empire and the once mighty number one staple of Inland Empire radio, KFRG, isn't even in the top five. Also it's worth noting the IE's other historical top-rated station, KGGI, isn't even the number two station, and in fact KGGI is significantly far back, rating point wise, from the number one spot.

Inland Empire PPM-October '08 Arbitron Monthly PPM 6+:

1. KOLA (Classic Hits) 7.0 - 8.1
2. KLYY (Tropical) 7.9 - 7.0
3. KGGI (Top 40/R) 6.1 - 6.2
4. KRQB (Regional Mexican) 4.7 - 5.5
5. KIIS (Top 40/M) 7.1 - 5.2

KLYY is not tropical, and has been Adult Hits for about 6 months.

You bring up a point... often the formats in the trade publications are inserted by the publication, and don't come from Arbitron. In fact, in the October PPM results for Riverside / San Bernardino, KLYY appears in the Arbitron PPM Analysis Tool as "Spanish Adult Hits" so wherever you read the ranker, that publication has not updated the formats.
