I know I come on here and talk about the great successes of Mega, but I'm taking a break this weekend.

Listen to KKRW and you will hear out of the box thinking. This heritage classic rock outlet is taking on Steve Jobs, the iPod and even satellite radio head on! What they're doing is The Arrow on Shuffle. Imagine the classic rock hits, "you love plus some rare songs you haven't heard in a while. It's all random baby." Bravo, give me more.

On a side note, I love the holiday music on Sunny and Sam Malone on the Mix has made a huge difference for me.

TheClearAnswer has spoken and is thankful for some real radio innovation in Houston. As usual, you also learned something.

This schtick has been ongoing in major & mid markets for at least 5-6 months now. This is nothing new.

Innovaton? It looks like the Arrow (KKRW) ripped off my ideas that I posted 5 months ago on this forum. Read my post and see if you can tell a difference between what I wrote and what you are blathering on about.

Taking other people's ideas is not innovation. But I am glad to see that you are making use of my great ideas. You are welcome.

I hardly consider The Arrow to be a heritage classic rocker. I definitely learned something thanks to the fine folks at CC. Satellite radio is worth every bit of the $12.95 I spend per month, and I don't have to listen to the junk that people like this guy are trying to shove down my throat. Thank you, Clear Answer for making this crystal clear for me and others.

Can't wait 'til Jobs & Co. sue CC for ripping off the Shuffle trademark without proper credit.

You want out of the box innovation? Have the Arrow do a promotion/marketing deal with Apple to sponsor this feature. Then the sales and programming gurus can smile all the way to the bank.

*Insert Station Name Here* on Shuffle isnt anywhere near origional. Station's all over the country are using the iPod gimmick, from Hot AC to Oldies. Its a different set of songs about to be burnt to a crisp from the same era.

No offence, but I'd put Deep Tracks and Top Tracks against KKRW any day. Plus...no commercials!

When I hear 10 minutes of "Rosalita" from The Boss followed by "War," then maybe we'll talk....<P ID="signature">______________

Cable internet connections (6mB) are under $50/ month.
Over 10,000 choices all legal and free.

Commercial free satellite radio for about $12/ month.

You'd better come up with something better than a glorified Winamp playlist on shuffle if you want to compete.

The elevator at work went to public radio. Sorry.

Sirius probably trumps "The Arrow" (not to mention Jack), IMHO

While it's been awhile since I've heard KKRW, I strongly suspect I'd take Sirius's 16 "The Vault" over "The Arrow" any day of the week. With "The Vault" and some of its' other streams, Sirius has refreshed classic rock in my book, taking what I'd once dismissed as fair-to-great music packaged in an exercise in nostalgia for white baby boomers who hated disco, despised rap and didn't understand alternative, and bringing back a spirit of adventure and discovery (at least for yours truly).

Granted, I could be mistaken, but at least that's how I myself perceive things here.

In the meantime, while at first I thought Sirius's "Super Shuffle" stream was going to be a me-too copycat reaction to Jack, this year's "flavor of the month" in terrestrial radio, now that I've actually heard Super Shuffle I also think it's a case of "anything you can do, I can do better."

On the lighter side, maybe I could change my monicker here to "The Sirius Answer." ;-)

Re: Sirius probably trumps "The Arrow" (not to mention Jack), IMHO

I couldn't agree with you more. I personally like both stations that you listed, as well as "The Big 80's" Sirius 8. If Cox would expand the playlist like this, we wouldn't be talking about an eventual flip of the Point, and the station would have no where near the dismal numbers they are currently entrenched in.
