Inovonics 713 RDS software question....

Greetings All,

We have an Inovonics Model 713 RBDS encoder. I currently don't have it interfaced to our AudioVault system, so we just use it to display the station slogan right now and football score updated during football season. I would love to be able to run some kind of software that would update the encoder with a message dependent on what time of day it was. Does anyone know of such a software that does this with this encoder? Thought about setting up scripts in Hyperterminal.... Anyone know of the magic software??? Free would be great!!!

Hi there,
Aside from writing your own software (could be fun..), a built in scheduler was not a feature of the 713. However, a full featured time synced scheduler IS included in the model 730, and you can download the software free if you want to check it out.

The scheduler gives you up to twenty, 128 character scrolling PS messages that can be programmed to air at specific times on prearranged dates or recurring days of the week.

Other than that, you could look into Center Stage Live by Arctic Palm or TRE from BE, both great products, but certainly not free :).

Lukas,

PadBridge will do that for you. You'll need either a dorect connect or an RS-232 server for the Inovonis to give it an i.p. We toss title and artist data taken from thje playback system, I understand AudioVault will do this as well.

crustychicken, are you updating the scores throughout the entire game? We also have the Innovonics 730 but haven't installed it yet. Are you actually posting every score change? I assume you are able to do that pretty quickly? The public must love it. Have you had any comments? Most stations are too lazy to do what you are doing. I think it is great and plan to do the same if it is practacle.
