How easy/often will stations take to the following:

A 2hr. weekly mix show, very structured, (see below) and it
is a straight up trade. At this time, I am not interested
in pay..I just want to have a few stations airing my mix...
trying to build a 'hit-music' network. I usually email/contact
stations at least in market #200, or smaller (#240, 250, 264.etc)

Just a MIX of music. NO Vocals
(unless, the station -really- requests it :) but, just
a "pop-40" mix of hits/dance and top40 fave's..(past/present).

Most likely the show will aire on the weekends(fri/sat nite)...or,
if more of a throwback mix, possibly a sunday nite 'session'

The Breakdown:
--------------
:00 - :12: Segment #1/to be defined, as per station demands.
:12 - :15: break #1/commercial.local
:15 - :27: segment #2
:27 - :30: local spot #2
:30 - :42:segment # 3
:42 - :45: local # 3
:48 - :00: segment #4.
(repeat as many hours as needed, most likely two).

Again, I am not interested in becoming the next 'sensation'
just 'bragging rights' on the resume, that I have a few
radio shows..and, most importantly to fuel that passion
that is Radio.

any input, please contact me, via the board with a reply.
emaiL: [email protected]
etc..etc...i hope to get some answers.

PS: The reason I love this board and forum, is to address
these issues : ) No where else will you get an informative
reply..and a more HONEST Answer !! Usually peeps here are
pretty sincere, even if it isn't the nicest thing to say...
but, that is why this place(radio-info) is soo awesome :)

I will NOT mention the stations that 'turned me down' but
I do want to why; they all had 'their reasons' now, I
want the truth. So, maybe next book, I can approach them again,
this time "the right way" and before I know it, be on the aire :)

Oh, can high school or University and College radio stations
accept such a proprosal..as mentioned above ???

Most syndicated shows are straight trade or "Barter."

From a programmers POV ask yourself why would a station want this show? What does it bring to the listener/customer? Couldn't I just buy a "Now that's music Vol. 1-13" and put it in a cd player and walk away?

Look for the "Oh Wow!" factor that most stations ignore and if your show has that then you've got something. If not then keep trying.

As for no personality... A solid music show with no personality is lacking one of the key aspects to radio. Radio with out personality or vocals to me is musak which has a lot more varieties than just top 40 mix.

If you do decide to hit up markets I'd get a killer show worked up with a great talent and some "Big Market" imaging elements and hit not only 200+ markets but start at the top. Why not New York, LA, San Fran, Chicago.... It would take a lot of Market 215, 216, 245 to add up to a top 20 Market. They will jump on board if you've got Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas, Seattle or even Vegas or Orlando.

Good luck.

Versus:

THE "now, that's...music" vol. ### versus, a "LIVE" mix,

..is u can drop in the station ph # to "take requests"
..make a stale song, fresh again, with a remix.
..play a current song, and have the bonus beats mix!! to
'add' some thing to the mix, in whole.

..there is alot that the "friday nite mix show" versus
the 2hr. audio vault and 'just playing' the songs..

i am just wondering, why no one is trying to fill
programming voids, with some thing other than..
the automated system?
