Installing a Hamilton Rangemaster for Dummies

I'm an announcer, not an engineer. But I have some technical skills. I own a Rangemaster and have antenna space on my house and a small back yard for ground wires.

Can anyone give me some basic tips - what to install, how to install, etc.

Thanks.

What I would suggest is to go to the Rangemaster site and look around..

In a limited area for grounding, Focus on the ground wire idea that Keith suggests and mount the xmtr in a spot so you can get to it easily for tuning and have the ability to back away from the unit a few feet and still see your VOM. Your body being close to the unit will affect tuning, You'll see.. ;)

Stay clear of trees! They will eat your signal up! Adjust to the specs! If you try to run more power than suggested, The audio will lose bandwidth! If you can find a balance close to the top of the chart, It will work the best. Just make sure you get the proper I/V readings as suggested on the chart where ever they end up. This is very important! Just make sure you back away from the unit to get your readings..

Check out the How to Hints page on the web site
