Integrity of Music Choice Recordings

I listen to Music Choice, Solid Gold Oldies, via Comcast, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I know what the original recordings sound like. But many of these songs have significant parts of the music missing; both vocals, background vocals, and instrument tracks. Does anyone know what could be the cause of that?

This subject comes up a lot when talking about 60s recordings. There were records made where certain instruments or vocals were only in one of the two stereo channels. Usually songs from 1965, 66, 67. We call it pre-pan pot stereo. Sometimes, the service provider is only playing one of the channels. Could that be what you're hearing?

Yes, this is likely what I'm hearing (or not hearing). Any ideas on how Comcast could resolve this issue, or who to talk to about it?
