Interefernce on 10/11 meters

For the last few months or so i've been getting some kinda wierd carrier, etc on 27.345 and 27.405 (Low signals on each) and various other frequencys between 10 and 12 meters... I thought it was my antenna going bad,but a friend of mine 15 miles from me also says he gets the same crap on those 2 frequencies,so it cant be my stick......

I listenend to the crap on 27.345 on USB and i swear to god it sounds like BPL (I thought i heard hear data in the whine)

Anyone else noticing this??? I$ this the start of the end for the HF bands??

:(

BPL is a broadband problem - it wouldn't affect only two channels, it would affect the entire CB band. There are links to recordings of BPL interference on http://www.arrl.org .

Also, it's unlikely a problem with your antenna would cause this kind of noise. (though a loose ground connection or connection to the shield of your coax could make it easier for noise that already existed to get through to your radio. You should double-check the integrity of the connections on your coax and to your antenna.)

My gut feeling is this noise is coming from one or more computers or pieces of computerized gear. (these days that could include just about any piece of home entertainment equipment) Have you bought any new equipment of this type recently? Is it possible one of your close neighbors has?

(I know what BPL sounds like :()

I dont just get the noise on 11,i get it on 10 also..

I checked yesterday:

27.345
27.405
27.955
28.505 (Slightly)
28.565 (needle is bouncing up and down)
28.595
28.625

All those are where i get the interference......

Anyone else get intereference on the above freq's??

I noticed when my Antron went bad,i had noise on EVERY FREQUENCY (It was letting all kinds of noise in) -- Then when i got my IMAX,the noise went away......

But recently im having some kind of either COAX or ANTENNA issues and i dunno exactly what it is.... I thought it was related to that until my friend told me he also is getting it and he lived 15 miles away!!

Hmmmmmmm

Right now the signal is getting stronger and weaker on 1 freq....

Its definetly some kind of interference!!

From the frequencies listed, it looks like the signal is every 30khz. Start checking for anything electronic around the house, including compact flourescent lamps. (compact flourescents have an oscillator board in them) Could be something oscillating at 30 khz that is very rich in harmonics. Could be almost anything electronic these days, especially anything with a microprocessor in it. Also may be floating in on a cable TV system, if you have that. You never know, consider every possibility. Be a sherlock holmes, and let us know what you find..

Oh hell, do what everyone else on these boards do...blame it on IBOC! Is it only durning daylight hours? Do you have a commercial broadcast station at 1480 or 1490Kc?

No......

I noticed when 10 and 11 were OPEN last week i had several spots where it was just NOISE (Like a digital signal was there)
