we don't disagree on your "trains" analogy. it almost makes my point
i think if u look at, to take your example clear channel, they at least seem to be leading the pack when it comes to hd radio, internet integration, etc. a heckuva lot more proactive than cumulus, citadel, cox & cbs. they don't hit home runs with all of it but at least they are trying.
don't u love it when radio hacks get all p.o.'d with the **WAH, RADIO DOES THE SAME OLD COOKIE-CUTTER THING AND THE PLAYLIST ARE SO SHORT, BLAH BLAH BLAH** but then when radio starts expanding with things like JACK (not the specific stations but the concept) we then hear **WAH, THAT'S NOT HOW RADIO IS DONE!!! WHERE ARE THE DJS!!!!! WHERE'S MY WEATHER FORECAST !!!**
ya can't have it both ways
biggest part of the challenge is that the technology often grows faster than humans are able to adapt---
