I noticed that the FCC granted a license to cover for a new non-com station on 90.7 over in Hardin, a small town a few miles north of Liberty. Don't expect to hear it much in Houston, though, since it's only running 100 watts with an antenna height of about 40 feet.
What makes this interesting is that the station somehow would up with a set of "W" calls: WWNV. How they got those "east of the Mississippi River" type call letters isn't clear. The licensee, Best Media, Inc., owns a bunch of low-power NCE stations and translators in various states including two in the Houston area, K217DP Barker and K217DJ Kemah (both on 91.3, with the one in Barker listed as "silent").
