Interesting Station (Pirate?) on 101.7

I'm not sure if this is CHLY (their web stream is down) and if it is, they need to get somebody in the studio. Like, QUICK. It's playing a loop of Christmas music followed by this creepy announcement:

"Are you ready to rock n' roll on Saturday and Sunday night. It's gonna be rock n' roll night, you'll like it...."

I really, really hope it's not CHLY. Who's gonna sponsor THIS?

I'm just outside of Mount Vernon and it's really weak. But it is a stereo signal

Probably a pirate. The only other 101.7's in the NW are (IIRC) KLES Prosser (SS) and KLRR Redmond OR (AAA). I heard a 101.9 on Christmas Eve night (10pm or so) playing X-Mas music (Carol of The Bells David Foster, etc.) with no IDs, likely a Christmas light show.

Well, whoever's doing it seems a little dedicated, seeing as he's gonna be doing a "rock 'n roll night" on New Year's Eve. Won't be around to hear it though........

College station CIVL 101.7 in Abbotsford which is currently operating with 40 watts is expected to increase power to 880 watts any day now. Possibly them testing?

Crainbebo: Actually you can add K269FT 101.7 Hoquiam (a 250 watt KXRO 1320 translator) and CBUE 101.7 Hope (a 105 watt CBU 690 translator) to the list. Also K201GB 88.1 (K-Love) in Centralia has a cp to move to 101.7 with 205 watts.

As for your mystery on 101.9.....it could have been CFUV in Victoria. I only say this because David Foster is a hometown hero from Victoria.

What you probably heard was the Helmstetler Family Christmas show from here in West Seattle, right next to the water tower in the Admiral District. As you can see, Carol of the Bells is on their list. He doesn't push much power, so that was a pretty good catch.

Well, what I heard was Carol of the Bells David Foster followed by another Carol of the Bells (Trans-Siberian Orchestra IIRC), back to back.
