Now THAT'S an extensive article / analysis on West Palm Beach radio. The only thing missing are USA Today-like charts and graphs !

I'd love to see something as extensive done on Miami radio.

It's suprising to see the demo split. But when it comes down to it. The mnarket is well represented, but I do think it needs a bigger Spanish and Haitian presence.

Anybody remember??

Those short lived, ill-fated Palm Beach ACs from the late 80s?? WMXQ, the "Quality Mix", on 94.3...Did Classic Hits, and followed WNJY's "Music Of Your Life", and prior to WOLL which signed on around late 89.

Also WTRU "TRUE FM", on 99.5 in Jupiter (now WJBW-FM on 106.3), an AC format...The time I heard them I think they aired but 2 commercials....That followed the WKSY calls, and an even earlier 96.7 frequency for what is now B-106.3. Bill Brown, who used to host "New Directions In Jazz" at Love, was a jock there, I know that much.

Of course there was the original version of "Star 95.5", which proclaimed "Superstars of the 80s and 90s"...Guess it was early/mid 90s??

Then there was WCGY on 850 ca. mid-80s, one I know nothing (or little) of....Curt Gowdy owned WEAT AM/FM, and 'shared' the calls he had in Boston for a bit here in the Palm Beaches.....Supposedly was automated and with a large playlist of Oldies and currents.

Yeah, I enjoyed WOLL on 94.3 in the early 90s,
when it was oldies, whenever I was in PB Co.

Yeah, I remember WEAT on 850, too.

I like WJBW-FM but can't pick it up in Browrd or even Boca.

Interesting trend for the Buzz, eh?

1.9?? Ouch!! That Roth Radio ain't working.

So much for all of you that said it was 'better than Zeta', we'll see you down the same road.

My only question is the Buzz "too alternative" for WPB? Last time I listened, I only heard 6 songs that hour that I knew about...and I'm a self-proclaimed rocker!

The Buzz's survival lies (I think) in going more mainstream.

I wonder if WILD-95.5 picked-up on some of their listeners ? They scored their best book in modern history. After lingering in the upper-2s / lower-3s for several years they suddenly catapulted all the way up to a MASSIVE 4.0 !

Ironically the next highest-rated station - was a MIAMI station - AMOR !

True. For awhile (when the indie owner had it) that was an outstanding oldies station- crappy signal but they seemed to do a lot with few tools. It always seemed a lot better than WMXJ, for sure.
