Interesting Stuff on 920 AM

Amongst the jumble that includes KSHO and a bunch of other stuff, I'm hearing a sort of Jazz piano.

I can't find any station that plays anything like that, though KGTK is a remote possibility (the stream doesn't match what I'm hearing, though).

Any ideas? Maybe it's filler music on a station that normally airs something else?

What area are you listening from? I'll see what I can hear and check a few SDRs. Might find one close enough I can get the groundwave and a positive identification

Depending where you are, pubcaster WBAA in West Lafayette, IN would be a possibility.

Do you mean KBRD? The KGTK call letters are gone now. That was when they were talk at 920. The jazz piano definitely sounds like what you would hear on K-BIRD.

Shoot, forgot to mention that. I'm in Lake County, up near Ukiah.

KBRD is 7 watts at night. That might not even cover all of Olympia depending on ground conductivity there
Ah, yes, I did mean KBRD. I checked against the stream, and it wasn't the same music, so even in the highly unlikely event I was hearing 7 watts, it wasn't that station I was hearing.

I might believe WBAA in West Lafayette. But I can't prove it.
That would be impressive, but I suspect unlikely.

and the answer issss.

KKGX 920 Palm Springs, CA
Ah, I see now! That must have been it!

Kinda wonder what I'd receive here. There is a station on 920 here in Vegas but it's 500 watts at night and our ground conductivity is absolutely terrible. I'm guessing the frequency will be a hot mess
