interesting...

Cool and it's Winnipeg, Manitoba's CKFE flipping from AAA radio to country as Hank.fm...

or at least according to it's website that it was supposed to flip on Boxing Day at noon (12/26 for those in America)

Hmmm...at current time of posting their site still reads "Stand by"
Did they actually go Country...or are they still stunting something?

Shortly before Christmas, the station went all Country Christmas music all the time.

It's up and running now (but still cookie cutter to a point...like the jock page) ... even streaming

http://streaming.whittakerbroadcasting.com/cafe100.asx

Start streaming and the first song I hear is the title track of the new cd by the Dixie Chicks go figure (something not played on American radio mostly)

Thanks

They're the same company that launched Big Earl Country in Edmonton, (NewCap) but I doubt it's the same playlist.

Big Earl: http://www.bigearl963.com/index.asp?CP=BBAR_1

No I listened to Big Earl, And to me it was more of it trying to be a "full" country station (classics and new country) compared to say Edmonton's CISN (kissin' 103.9 is more modern country) or CFCW (which apparently is a full service style country station) (I heard both the Big Earl 98.1 and Big Earl 96.3 as I have a friend in Edmonton who turned me onto the streams of those country stations)

When I first heard Hank FM it was a lot of songs I hadn't heard of (Apparently more Canadian content than in Edmonton)

I think when I can, I think I'm gonna have to re scope them out (as I like listening to some of the country music not heard on country radio currently (I like checking out Canadian and "red Dirt" country when I've burnt my self on the latest top 40 country)

Thanks for the original post BTW... Turning me onto some place new.

You're welcome! Any time!
If another Country station signs on in Canada, I'll be sure to post the info here.
