Interface review

FYI

Just got a TC Electronic desktop konnekt 6. Very cool firewire interface.
Really good preamps, phantom power, a big monitor volume knob, real clean
AD conversion, and TC's excellent built in reverb!

You can plug your mic straight into it, or use your pre into the line.
I have my phone patch connected, too.
Attach your power monitors, and you're ready to go. Bye Bye mixer and cables all over the floor.

See pictures on their website. This is the interface I'd been looking for. Looks like a mini mixer.
$250, by they have a $50 rebate right now.

Bill, that looks really cool! So... the Input/Daw control... is that for when you're recording you turn to Input and when playing back to Daw?

Looking at the rear of the unit... http://cachepe.zzounds.com/media/qu...ekt_Rear-e8501a2c94b93848499a2ab0eac7d6d8.jpg

Hey Chuck!

The Input/Daw is for monitoring from just the interface "Input" or you can sing/talk along with the music coming from your Adobe/Soundforge etc "Daw"...more for musicians I think.

I plugged my JK Audio phone patch into preamp two on the konnekt interface. I use this for recording car dealers who like to be on a portion of their commercial.

The reverb is really good, and it feeds into your headphones as you speak.

The preamps are very good, but my Focusrite preamp, plugged into the line in, sounds a hint more "expensive".

I sense another write off coming for myself ;) End of the year is near... got to buy that gear!!

Is the JK you have the Digital Hybrid? If so an agency I work with had me install one a few months back. I loved it. That's next up on the list over my HC-1.
