interference on local FM station

I've got a Marantz receiver with a Terk FM antenna. When listening to WCPN, 90.3 FM in Cleveland there's a whistling in the background. All other stations come in fine. This must be something local because my next door neighbor hears it too. I called the station and talked to an engineer. He said he's had no reports of this and he lives on the other side of town and has good reception. Can anything be done about this? Thanks. :(

computers heavily interfere, moreso if you are running a UPS. I found this recently on my brother's Marantz AV surround receiver (SR-4400). Switched off the UPS on his puter & the whistle noise vanished. This is more noticeable if you're FM signal is a bit weaker too (like a B grade signal). Indoor FM antennas tend to pick up a lot of interference. Even just walking around the room can affect the FM signal. The SR-4400 Marantz receiver also generates a lot of self interference due to poor shielding of the tuner board. This noise comes from the FL display. I don't know if this is a problem across other Marantz models but the SR-4400 is a high end model w/RDS.dxer2_2000
