My station has been online for nearly five years and I've noticed that in the past year, I'm getting more and more Roku listeners, that are almost for certain finding us through the Tune-In channel on Roku.
That got me to thinking about setting up my own Roku public channel. So, I've did it, only took about 1.5 hours to get it working and about another hour to get the graphics and colors loaded to were it looks pretty good. I use Shoutcast to broadcast my station and Roku handles it very well.
I'm still waiting for final approval, but if anyone with a Roku wants to see what it looks like, just use this code to add it to your Roku device.
Code: ZCF9B
Once the channel is approved, and I have my "vanity" address, I'll put a link for website visitors to add the station to their Roku player.
I'm already syndicated or listed on at least a dozen or more internet radio directories. The way I see it, it's just another way to get your channel to as many people as possible.
