Internet Radio....which one should I buy? Sangean or Squeezebox?

I should be in the right spot for this....because i'm planning on buying an internet radio. After doing research...it comes down to 2 of the models that i think are the best. based on what I want from an internet radio. Sangean WRF-20 and The Logictech Squeezebox

1. Selection off the web.... many or most radios are only compatible with Reciva,...but i'm looking for one that I can select off of Shoutcast, Realplayer, Live 365, V-Tuner etc. whether it's free or paid subscription like SiriusXm, or off a URL....I want a radio that will select the most radio stations.
Results, I believe the squeezebox has the edge. Tell me If I'm wrong on that.

2. Playing files off the hard drive....
I believe the Sangean has more of the direct access then the Squeeze box , but it's not as important as far as web site selection.

3. Display......time , title and artist and name of Station.
I believe the Sangean has the better readouts, but not by much.

4. Download time...one of the major reasons i choose these two. The rest had download time for as long as 25- 60 seconds, while these two only had 4 seconds average. one of the reasons i ruled the Tangent and others out.

5. Codec selection....Plus and minus...Squeezebox has the more of codec selection , MP3, AAC, AU etc, but it also is DRM managed. Sangean is not. let me know if I'm wrong on that.

So for those who own these models already....WHICH ONE SHOULD I PURCHASE?? Which one is better.

Starbucks, I do not own an internet radio, but I have a gripe against Sangean and have serious reservations about ever buying one of their products again. About 8 years ago I bought the CCrane/Sangean radio and had the digital display go out after a couple years. When I called the company, I was told it would cost $49.95 to have it fixed... which I thought was outrageous after I paid $159 for the radio in the first place.

I though this thread was an archive. That can happen with anything. it sounds like a lemon situation. But since then I have moved interest toward the latest Cobra and V-tech. The logitech is the best out there as far as internal performance. It's the outside physical features, like the wobbly tuning knob, and the plastic smudges and hard to clean the screen situation that has me delaying purchasing it. V-tech sounds like the best for your money..even though it won't deliver Pandora,Sirius, and has no headphone jack, but I heard those will be improve with the next version of the V-tech internet radio. it does have a good bass sub-woofer I like to add.

OK, I am about to get more serious about Internet Radio. I think I am ready to plunk down some cash for one, even though I consider them to still be somewhat experimental.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Sanyo R227, which is available from C Crane for $169.95? It's one of the less expensive options out there.

Alternatively I am considering dedicating one of my older PC's for use as an Internet Radio (exclusively). I am thinking of just loading several players on it and letting 'er rip. One question I have for you clever gents: Is there an app that will store your favorite stations for Windows Media Player? Typical brain-dead Microsoft; there's no way (that I can find) in WMP to store a URL for later retrieval.

Running Linux is also an option; does anyone have a particular favorite player that they would care to recommend?

Yes there is. it's the DRS webcaster, (not Windows Media) it's layed out nicely, free download, but inconsistent when it comes to tune and listen with certain stations or streams. Especially stations that have their own player. Example is Goom radio. I tried to URL it in there, but no luck. CBS own stations....I had one working for awahile, then I think they changed the URL, and I can't get it back in again. Some work on the first try, not the 2nd, and vice versa. And some work all the time.
