Internet Station Using KFNN's Frequency as their own in San Tan Valley

The FCC would have no jurisdiction unless he's actually operating a station there.

I was assuming, from various posts, that he was broadcasting in some sort of capacity, part 15 or not. Has anyone actually heard his station on 1510 AM down in San Tan Valley?

Joe at KQCKlive says at one point they had a part15 transmitter, something like the Hamilton Rangemaster he used at 1620 KFHX when that station was running in Fountain Hills back a few years ago. So that is his reason for saying 1510. But he said he did that for a very short time, said it did not work well. But that is doubtful. KFNN is heard just fine during the day here in San Tan Valley. So why even attempt to broadcast 1/10 of a watt on a signal that is already heard very well here in San Tan Valley? Rangemaster isn't that great on a clear channel. So I suppose he just left the 1510 posted everywhere and pretended. I hear the FCC was out here but no signal actually being used so not an FCC issue. I have heard KQCXlive has gotten quite a lot of ad revenue with the assumption they are on 1510. Again have a large business locally that said Joe with KQCKlive came to their business, with his flashy KQCKlive wrapped van and said they are on 1510am with great coverage. I also hear another media outlet will soon be doing a story on KQCXlive using 1510am on most all of their promotions material and their ad revenue they have generated. Also KQCKlive claiming to have 13,000-100,000 listeners a day.

But that doesn't make any sense? If an advertiser bought time for 1510 with KQCKlive, they would tune in and hear another station. How would anybody be able to make money when its obvious their ads are not running?

You would think so. But the business I talked to said they just never paid that much attention to it. From what I understand Joe would make some great excuses depending on the type of questioning. Now I am not for certain on that, just what I am told. Just don't think people pay close attention to what they hear on the radio. I asked that very same question because it made no sense to me. Then again I pay way more attention when it comes to radio and I am certain everyone on this board does as well. Much more so than the average listener.

Wow this is the biggest thing to hit San Tan Valley since they banned putting tires on the roofs of single wide trailers.
