Interview with The Kimmer

I'm a long time reader of this board. I thought I'd finally sign up and post for a change.

I write a conservative political blog, theconservativebeacon.net, and I had the privilege for interviewing for GST host Kim "The Kimmer" Peterson yesterday. To my knowledge, this is his first audio interview since his departure.

In the interview he discusses his departure, gives his take on President Obama, the bailouts, etc. Most of all, however, it's an opportunity to hear his voice and get the scoop on what really happened.

Hope you enjoy!

That's great! I know that I, and many others here, are looking forward to hearing it!

Great interview. Brought back so many good memories. I wish a station here in ATL would have the stones to put the Kimmer back on. Man, that was good radio!
Semper-Fi, Kimmer.

Fantastic interview! He did not bash Bloomquist or Deskins, even though 2 idiots are just part of the many who passed through the doors of The Building of Death and destroyed those radio stations. He also mentioned that Wayne is back at Delta as a mechanic. Is he no longer with Citadel?

I really appreciate the positive feedback from everyone about the interview. It happened so quickly that I was unable to get to everything I would have liked to ask, but I hope to get him back on in the future.

I, like most of you, was just excited to be able to hear him again.

As Kimmer's final Technical Producer, I want to personally thank you for posting this on Radio-Info.com. Atlanta needs to hear his voice again, and they can do it via the link that you have provided here. He is one of the greats, and it is both an honor and privilege to call Kim Peterson a friend.

Semper Fi, Kimmer!

You have made my day, if not my week or month! Please let Kim know he's still missed here in Atlanta, and do try to track down Tom Hughes, a loss that still makes my chest hurt.

Now I've listened to the interview! Tears are streaming down my face, "I've gotta go, you're killing me!"

Seriously, his observations about political correctness driving content are clearly a regional issue. After being introduced to Handel on the Law on WSB, further research revealed Bill Handel's morning show is podcast - actually, KFI in Los Angeles podcasts everything and it's free. Handel is far from a conservative but he frequently evolves to conservative perspectives. But the man is as politically incorrect as you can get and not have to go on XM/Sirius. I think Clear Channel is a lousy operation, they're surviving only because of Rush and would have been off the air long ago if not for him.

That's my vent, as a fan and not as an insider, and I thank you again for getting and sharing the interview with the Kimmer - it's a gift.

Thank you all again for the wonderful reception to the interview. It was such a thrill for me. I've been blessed to have interviewed generals, senators, congressmen and women, terrorism experts, authors, etc., but I have never been more nervous than I was to interview The Kimmer. That's what happens when you grow up listening to someone and you finally get a chance to speak with them.

@Firebird: An interview with Tom Hughes would probably be unlikely. (I have no connections to him.)

@Bob: I'm assuming that Wayne is only working at Delta, but I'm not 100% certain.

I'm going to try to get The Kimmer back on in a few months to discuss more topics. I'll be sure to post that here as well.

I saw Wayne a few months ago hosting the Trivia Night at Willy's on Barrett Parkway -- haven't been back on a trivia night since, so don't know if he is still doing that or not.

Josh, thank you for interviewing The Kimmer! Clearly, you miss him as much as many of us here in Atlanta do. For me, The Kimmer and gang memories are as close as my iPod is loaded with Rebel Without A CLUE and their other nine CD's. Although The Kimmer is preferred listening when my boys and I travel to the woods, we would love to hear him back on the air again!
