Introduction

I would like to introduce myself to this board. I am Jamie and co-host the podcast Wheels Off Liberty. I don't know how much feedback I will be able to give on anyone's discussions but I may try to pick your brains every once in a while.

There's not a lot of interest in podcasting here, but feel free to stir some up. It's one of my favorite hobbies - as a producer, not necessarily as a host.

There is also a group of 600 members in a podcasting group on LinkedIn. It would still be great to increase the activity here. Today, in fact, I learned of a site for ex-radio people who podcast. It's Radio Exiles.

While the term "podcasting" is often used to generically describe Internet distribution of audio, some suggest that the term really refers to recorded segments that are distributed by RSS. That is, no RSS, no podcast. The real fun for us is actually webcasting, which is live audio or audio/video streaming. The shows are recorded and distributed by RSS through iTunes, but I doubt anyone would spend the time to download and listen to a 3-hour webcast. The benefit of a live show is audience interaction.
