My name is Ed Smith. I actually worked in TV in the Jacksonville, Florida market producing and editing local commercials. I also did some freelance work as a TD (technical director) on location in the TV production trucks for various (mostly college) sporting events In Florida and surrounding areas in the southeast. I’m a little familiar with the radio side as the companies that have owned the TV station I worked at also owned radio stations and were housed in the same building as the TV studios. I retired at the end of 2019. I joined because I was searching for someone I worked with back in the 1980s, and his name came up in the search on this site. The person I was searching for is David Reeves. Someone posted that he now lives in Jacksonville, (assuming it’s the David Reeves I’m looking for). In Jacksonville, he was our TV station announcer through the 1980s and maybe into the early 1990s, but he also did voiceover work for various clients. Winn Dixie was a major advertiser that he did work for, as well as some on-camera work for other local businesses. If anyone knows how I can contact him, please let me know.
