With the recent purchase of KMCC Laughin/Las Vegas NV. Here's the list of ION Media that doesn't have owned and Operated tv stations. I'm going to list the top 80 markets that doesn't have ION owned and Operated TV stations.

Market #21 Charlotte NC

Market #37 Cincinnati OH
Market #38 Greenville SC
Market #40 Austin TX
Market #46 Albuquerque NM
Market #47 Harrisburg PA

Market #62 Little Rock AR
Market #65 Tucson AZ
Market #71 Omaha NE
Market #72 Wichita KS
Market #73 Springfield OH
Market #77 Flint MI
Market #78 Huntsville AL
Market #80 Toledo OH

I know that ION used to owned tv stations in Albuquerque NM, Fresno CA, Little Rock AR, and Green Bay WI. Will ION Media pursue in purchasing the missing larger tv markets?

San Diego has very few broadcast stations as it is. I don't see them being able to purchase anything worthwhile here unless they wanted something low power to try and force their way onto cable/sat. The last big sale was KFMB (TV/FM/AM) for $300m a couple years ago.

Electronically, the market is San Diego / Tijuana. As such, it has a fairly "normal" number of broadcast stations.

Excluding subs, San Diego/Tijuana has 15 full-power stations, 10 serving San Diego proper.

I know in some markets, Ion is on subchannels of other stations. But in places like San Diego that does not appear to be the case. Are they available on cable in those markets?

On Satellite it is. DirecTV carries East and west feeds. Cable I'm not sure. We have local OTA Ion (WPXA).

Spectrum in Jackson, TN carries the national feed from Ion so they apparently have it for cable systems with no local station as well like CW.

Portland, ME had ION as cable only for a long time (Spectrum channel 14 in that city). Fairly recently, they took over channel 35 of Lewiston. It went from WPME-TV (MY) to WIPL-TV (ION). I think the former programming of WPME is now a subchannel of WPXT-TV (CW) channel 51 of Portland.

Mostly unrelated, but the market once had WMPX-TV (PAX) channel 23 of Waterville. Today, they're WPFO-TV (FOX). WPFO-TV is a sister of sorts to WGME-TV (CBS) channel 13 of Portland.

Two recent stations adding Ion to their subcarrier tier: WRCB Chattanooga TN and WAKA Montgomery AL.

Until KCYU started up a subchannel of ION, this is how Yakima got ION Television. They received the national feed instead of the nearest affiliate (which was KWPX). I don't remember if PAX was carried on cable, but it was always carried on satellite, both DIRECTV and Dish.
