ION programming

Does anyone know why on earth ION Television does not get some more shows? All they seem to show is Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, and Without a Trace. They had NCIS, which was their highest rated show, but it disappeared for some reason last year. I know they had financial troubles recently, but the network's ratings were recently at records despite the small rotation of shows, surpassing the PAX days I believe. Is it financial? I would think their type of shows are rather expensive to acquire. If they cannot add more series during the week, I would suggest plugging a movie in each day or something.

What shows do you think would work for them? I hate they got rid of ER and Reba. I wonder if any of the CSI or L&O franchises would be available to them? They are a broadcast network, so it doesn't really matter if a show's on cable to them I guess (despite the fact that they have a national feed available to some cable/satellite providers). Maybe eventually they'll drop 3 more hours of infomercials and operate 12pm-12am. It seems ION is probably better off now than they've ever been, even if that's not saying much. Anything beats some of those awful PAX originals.

Some of it is what the syndicators do. In some cases, they may strike a deal with a cable network that calls for exclusivity, not allowing a broadcast run.

True.
I didn't know ION was running from 12PM-12AM on weekends now. Hopefully they can get some more shows soon.

Does anyone know how their numbers are? Are they very far behind MyNet?

When they let go of Mama's Family and a few other sitcoms they had, that's
when I quit watching. ION is the Idiots Of Norway channel in my house.

They could have gone classic TV and gotten some good publicity and a chunk of the baby boomer market. Instead, MeTV, RTV and now Antenna TV are picking up the slack where the old indies mostly left behind.

Thy are about to take over a UHF station and begin wasting tons of perfectly good

Too late -- ShopNBC already did that when they bought their time on WQEX (the station that ION is buying).

I don't live in P-burgh, but I'd rather watch ShopNBC over ION. ION lost my viewership when they dropped all my favorite shows - Reba, Alice, Mama's Family, Family Feud, Supermarket Sweep (going back to PAX), etc.

Everyone I know misses the old shows they had like Mama, Growing Pains, Wonder Years, etc...but the ratings are higher than ever with the 3 shows they currently have.

I wish they'd bring back stuff like Reba and Family Feud to add to their current show lineup for more variety.
