ION to program 3PM Hour Starting June 28th

ION will add another hour of programming to its weekday line-up. Starting June 28th. Family Feud (currently airing 4PM-6PM) will be moving to the 3PM-5PM time slot. Ghost Whisperer will air 5PM-7PM and starting July 5th with a launch marathon 3PM-Midnite Without a Trace will air Weekdays 7PM-9PM along with several other time slots. Some other changes will be made as well.

With the addition of the 3PM-4PM ION will now be programming 3PM-Midnite 7 days a week. This will bring the total number of hours programing the network to 66 hours/week including the QUBO Kids Block that airs Wednesday-Friday 8AM-9AM.

Comparing that to traditional networks - ABC programs 71.5 hours/week not including sports play-by-play or the ABC Overnight News, CBS programs 75.5 hours/week not including sports play-by-play or the CBS Overnight News, and NBC programs 76.5 hours/week not including play-by-play, the overnight poker and best of Fallon, or the Saturday overnight Best of SNL and Sunday Overnight best of Dateline.

Why didn't I include sports play-by-play in my network totals? Because it varies week-to-week sports season to sports season.

Of course the obvious - Sports play by play - affiliates of the Big 3 can air other programming during the remain hours of the week and ION stations can't.

When it all comes down to brass tacks, isn't most of ION's programming "best of" in the first place?

why can't ION show more variety of movies, instead of running one to death for a week or two?

Dave's World and Becker coming back out from the archives?

Becker is currently on 3 different channels: (all times eastern)

NBC-Universal's USA Network usually airs it at 3AM Sunday Mornings.

Tribune's WGN America airs it Sunday-Friday 6PM-7PM (right after Danson's other show CHEERS)

NBC-Universal's Universal HD airs it Monday-Friday 7PM-8PM. (And in a block along with Hogan's Heroes on most Friday Afternoons).

None of this matters to me because ION isn't on my cable system.

And the nearest affiliate is not available over the air. Maybe if I got an outdoor antenna, but even in the days of analog I could only get a fuzzy signal during certain weather conditions.
